This year we aim to provide thirteen ambitious students with the opportunity to join our team for a 12 month period.  We understand the importance of gaining the right work experience during your studies. You will need to be prepared to get involved from the start and take on responsibility while meeting new challenges. A work placement at RCI Financial Services is a great opportunity to gain experience in an ambitious Motor Finance company with a growing product portfolio. 

This year, we plan to offer placement opportunities in the following business areas:  

Finance (Management Accounting)

Management Accounting duties will include, creating the P&L and performance indicators of the company every month. The department is responsible for the commercial month end, general expenses consolidations, calculating the funding needs, calculating all the risk provisions of the company and managing all the business units of the company. Management accounting is also the department in charge of creating and manager the forecast plans for RCI and validating any pricing, new business or products.

Finance (Accounting and Reporting)

Financial Accounting & Reporting will include  making sure the controls and checks are in place so that all transactions are recorded and all payments are made accurately. Financial Accounting & Reporting also ensures our compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. Financial Accounting is very diverse including everything from Wages and Expenses to making sure the business has access to borrow millions of pounds to support our customers taking car finance

Human Resources (HR)

The HR department's responsibilities cover the full HR activity life cycle, recruiting employees with the right skills and application, training, personal and career development, reward, developing HR policies and working practices.

IS – Organisation and Projects

Our Information Systems UK Department is made up of a Development team and an Organisation and Projects team. The ideal candidate for this role, will have excellent organisational and planning skills administrative - reporting, maintaining project documentation, reviewing IS queries, preparing slides for internal/ external/ board level meetings.

Risk / Internal Control

Our Risk department is fundamental to RCI Financial Services and RCI Bank. In 2019 RCI Bank obtained our UK Banking licence which makes the department a very interesting team to be a part of. Internal Control is part of the wider Risk Team, ensuring that the company’s second line of defence is maintained through reporting systems and that the company risk control framework is implemented to ensure business continuity. The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of an internal control and our risk service and support the embedding of a culture of compliance and risk assessment within the company.


The Marketing department is made up of 5 teams including Brand, Digital, Pricing, CRM and Customer Experience and Communications. Communicating the value of our product, service and brand to customers and consumers are just some of the duties of the marketing team as well as overall responsibility for growing revenue, increasing market share and contributing to company growth and profitability. Promoting the business and driving sales of our products and services as well as providing the necessary research to identify the company’s target customers and other audiences.


The role will actively contribute to the achievement of the company’s commercial objectives and management of relationships with Manufacturer partners, the Dealer network, the RCI Field Team & third party suppliers, notably with regard to Used Vehicles, through the provision of analysis and reporting, the preparation of presentations for senior management and participation in projects.


Supporting our RCI Bank operations and change team and ensuring the smooth-running of RCI Bank on a day-to-day basis. This is a very exciting time to join the Bank team as in 2019 we obtained our UK Banking licence.  The role will include managing and analysing channels, delivering change projects and playing a key role in daily operations within the team.

Credit and Lending

The Credit and Lending department assists our car brands, including Renault UK and Nissan Motors GB to sell cars and vans by providing funding to their respective networks of dealerships. In doing so, we also aim to satisfy the objectives of RCI Banque SA by achieving an appropriate return on capital employed, whilst at the same time protecting the assets of our business. This is an analytical role, which is best suited to a candidate with strong Excel skills and who enjoys analysis and reporting.

Entrant Requirements

  • Minimum grades BBC at A level or equivalent.

  • Studying a degree with a placement year or an approved gap year.

  • Eligible to Work in the UK for a placement year from June 2020
